The Incucyte® Spheroid Analysis Software Module enables kinetic acquisition and objective assessment of spheroids in a physiologically relevant environment—right inside your tissue culture incubator. Together with the Incucyte® CX3 Live-Cell Analysis System, users can unlock live-cell confocal imaging in addition to phase, brightfield, and widefield fluorescence. For the Incucyte® SX1, S3, and SX5 systems, phase, brightfield, and widefield fluorescence are available depending on assay type.

With integrated, optimized protocols and automated image analysis, you can standardize your entire spheroid workflow—from generation and manipulation to real-time analysis—using image-based, label-free or fluorescence-based measurements. Track morphological changes, quantify growth or invasion, and assess treatment effects with unbiased measurements of spheroid size, count, and structure.

The software supports two assay models depending on your scientific goals:

Scaffold-free grown in round-bottom ULA plates

  • Single spheroids tumor models to evaluate growth, shrinkage and death in 96- and 384-well formats
  • Single spheroid invasion tumor model to quantitate invasive growth and shrinkage in a 96-well format

Scaffold-based grown in flat bottom plates

  • Multi- spheroids (MS) grown on a layer of Matrigel® or embedded in Matrigel® on a base to quantify tumor spheroid formation, growth and health in a 96-well format.
