Overview

Octet^® Streptavidin (SA) Biosensors provide robust access to customization of biosensors through high-affinity streptavidin-biotin interaction. Biological molecules - including proteins and nucleic acids - can be biotinylated using established protocols and immobilized onto the Streptavidin biosensor surface for custom assay development. The high sensitivity and stable baseline of the Streptavidin biosensor supports kinetic as well as quantitation experiments.

Kinetics Screening Assays

The Octet^® SA Biosensors with Octet^® systems allow for rapid kinetics screening of collections of proteins against an immobilized biotinylated binding partner. With remarkable flexibility/versatility of the Octet^® platform and Octet^® BLI Analysis software protein:protein interactions can be characterized using ka, kd, or KD as the screening parameters.

Custom Quantitation Assays

The Octet^® Streptavidin (SA) Biosensors enable custom quantitation applications, such as concentration determination of analytes binding to the biotinylated ligand immobilized onto the biosensor surface.

Recommended Buffers

Conveniently secure buffers for kinetic and quantitation applications directly from Sartorius. The recommended Buffer for kinetics applications on the Octet^® platform is the Octet^® Kinetics Buffer 10X, (part no. 18-1105). For quantitation applications it is recommended to use Octet^® Sample Diluent (part no. 18-1104).
