Watson-Marlow peristaltic pumps
Some weighing applications control peristaltic pumps for the transfer of liquids. Peristaltic pumps are robust, accurate, require low maintenance and do not come into direct contact with the transferred liquid. In consequence, there is no need to clean or decontaminate the pump after the liquid transfer. Sartorius offers three Watson-Marlow pumps with different flow rates for the transfer of liquid up to 11 L/min.

The peristaltic pumps deliver optimised performances in a wide variety of applications, from pharmaceutical and biotechnology processes that demand sterility and precision.
By their different flow rates the pumps are suited for different applications. The pumps are remotely controlled via serial commands by weighing applications and are used for processing Mycap consumables or for bag filling. For Mycap CCX cell expansion most often pump model 323Du (max. flow rate 1.4 L/min) and for the filling of single bags or processing of Linkit AX manifolds pump models 530DuN (max. flow rate 3.3 L/min) or 630DuN (max. flow rate 11 L/min) are used. They are connected via serial cable to the balance and are either IP31 (model 323Du) or IP66 (models 530DuN and 630DuN) protected.
For the liquid transfer the transfer tube is installed at the pump head. During the process is the liquid moved by the peristaltic force exerted and does not come into contact with any part of the pump. By this working mechanism sterility is maintained and decontamination or cleaning of pump after the transfer is not necessary.
